About Dr. Fadirepo

Dr Fadirepo

Dr Babarinde Fadirepo was born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 11, 1977. When Dr. Fadirepo was six years old he moved with his family to Ibadan, Nigeria, where he attended middle and high school. Dr. Fadirepo moved back to the US for college, where he earned a full scholarship to attend Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. At Macalester, he studied Neuroscience and later he enrolled in medical school at the University of Minnesota. He finished Duke University Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency in 2008. He joined Doctors Express in Edgewater as its Medical Director, after three years working as a staff physician at Baltimore Medical Systems.
Dr. Fadirepo’s inspiration to become a doctor arose under very unfortunate circumstances. When Dr. Fadirepo was about seven years old,  his  12 year old step brother, suddenly fell ill due to a virus that caused myocarditis (inflammation of the heart). Flu viruses and cases of Malaria were very common in Ibadan at that time, and these illnesses were typically successfully treated with village based medical remedies. However when Dr. Fadirepo’s brother was rushed to the hospital, there was a shortage of beds and rather than be admitted, he and his mother were sent away with medication. The young child died on the way back home from the hospital. Sadly, the boy probably  would have lived had he been treated in the United States.  One of Dr. Fadirepo’s life goals is to help bring access to high quality healthcare to emerging markets countries around the world.
Dr. Fadirepo’s areas of interests include men’s health issues, the Affordable Care Act, preventative care, urgent care, and natural remedies. Dr. Fadirepo is married to his lovely wife, Charlene, and they have one son. The Fadirepo family resides in Maryland.
